What factors should I consider when looking for a motorcoach?

When looking for a motorcoach, you should consider the quality and safety of the coaches, the qualifications of the drivers, the insurance held by the company, the areas they travel to, and the amenities they offer in their coaches.

How do I know if a motorcoach company is safe?

A great way to check a motorcoach company’s safety is to check their DOT Safety Rating. The highest rating is satisfactory. Other lower possible ratings include conditional, not rated, and unsatisfactory. We also have also added recently our AssurCleaning service.

How far in advance should I book my coach?

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to secure a charter for your travel date. This is easy to setup just give us a call at 404-681-1600 or visit our online form to request a quote.

Are there minimum group size requirements to book a coach?

We don’t have a minimum size requirement, but we recommend taking at least 30 people to make the trip affordable.

What sizes are your motorcoaches and what amenities do they have?

We have 56 passenger luxury coaches that feature reclining seats, full climate control, overhead storage, WiFi, DVD, USB Ports, and more! Check out our buses here!

Are your motorcoaches handicap accessible?

Yes, an ADA coach can be requested with a wheelchair lift.

What insurance does Georgia Coach Lines carry?

We have the $5 Million required policy.

What credentials do your drivers hold?

All of our drivers have CDLs (commercial drivers licenses). Our drivers are here to serve you in a helping and friendly manner. You can read more our drivers here.

Do your coaches travel in inclement weather?

Yes, we only cancel travel if there is a road closure by the state government.

Do you use updated & inspected vehicles?

All of our motorcoaches are inspected regularly to ensure they meet all current safety and operational requirements.

What is your procedure for road failures?

We have on-call dispatchers ready to quickly resolve road failure situations.

Can I recover an item I left in one of your motorcoaches? How long do you keep lost items?

We have our coaches checked upon their return to the service center and items left on the coach are secured for 30 days. Please give us a call here (404) 681-1600.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 15 days prior to the departure date. If the charter party cancels after the period specified, we reserve the right to assess a charge up to 50% of the tariff charges, plus whatever expenses may have been incurred.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, money orders, and checks. These should be made payable to Georgia Coach Lines. All credit card payments will be subject to a 3.5% service fee.

Do I need to pay for parking, tolls, and other fees?

The charter party is responsible for all entrance fees, tolls, and parking fees.

How much of a deposit is required?

A non-refundable deposit of 25% will be required at the time of booking to reserve our equipment.

Do I need to reserve the hotel room for the motorcoach driver?

Yes, for overnight trips, it is customary to reserve and pay for the driver’s room.

When is the final payment due?

The balance (less deposit paid) is due 14 days prior to the trip’s departure date.

Do I need to tip the motorcoach driver?

Our drivers do not solicit tips. Driver’s gratuity is based on the level of service provided. Customary gratuity is 10% of the total charter amount.

Is alcohol or smoking permitted?

Smoking is not allowed on the motorcoach. Alcohol is permitted provided that all passengers are of the legal drinking age. Only plastic or aluminum containers are allowed. Coolers are not allowed in aisle or on seats and in most cases must be placed under the coach in the baggage bin area. In some cases, a security deposit is required.
